Finding the Right Realtor to help you with Foreclosure Properties

Before you start shopping for a foreclosure property, be sure to partner with a trusted and seasoned real estate professional. If you haven’t worked with a realtor before, get references from trusted friends and family members. Finding the right real estate professional is an integral first step in the foreclosure buying process.

Be sure to find a real estate agent who has at least five years’ experience working in the area where you’re interested in a buying a home. Also, make sure he or she knows about the foreclosure property market and how it differs from the regular market in your area. Some realtors specialize in the foreclosure market, while some have no experience in this section of the real estate business.

Ask to meet the agent you’re considering in person before you start the process. That way, you’ll know if he or she is a good fit for you. Finding a realtor who is helpful and encouraging—but not pushy—will help you move through your foreclosure purchasing experience with confidence.
